Foster a Lonely Pet for the Holidays 2013
December is both the best and worst month for volunteers at PAWS New England. On one hand, there is nothing better than seeing many of our dogs spend their first holiday with a loving family. On the other hand, it is especially heartbreaking to see dogs that are left behind in the shelters.
PAWS has participated in Petfinder.com’s “Foster A Lonely Pet for the Holidays” initiative for the last five years. This campaign includes over 13,000 pet rescue organizations across the country, all working to empty their kennels for Christmas. This coordinated effort encourages members of the public to invite a pet home for the holidays. Each year, the program has been increasingly successful.
(1) Watch the Video After watching, consider posting it on your social networking sites and forwarding it to everyone in your email address book. We are looking to reach 10,000 views before December 15th.
(2) Volunteer to Foster... To learn more about fostering and to fill out a foster application, please click here. We are looking for foster homes willing to provide them with a loving, safe place to stay until they are adopted.
(3) Donate _If you can’t foster, consider making a donation to sponsor a lucky dog’s transport fees ($140) or vetting expenses ($175-225). It is extremely costly to transport large groups of dogs at once- help us make that happen by making a contribution here.
