Sometimes it really does take a village.

These adorable puppies were born underneath a porch in Memphis, where their devoted mama did an incredible job keeping them safe. For several weeks, no one even knew they were there. By the time neighbors discovered the little family, the puppies were about five weeks old and thriving thanks to their amazing mom.

When people realized what was happening, everyone sprang into action. It took a little patience to earn Mama's trust—she was simply doing what any good mother would do and protecting her babies. Once she realized the people were there to help, the whole family was safely rescued.

And here's something we almost never see... Dad stuck around the entire time! He stayed close to his family, and it's obvious these two are quite smitten with each other. They're both wonderful dogs, and we'll be looking for a home that will hopefully keep this sweet couple together.

As for the puppies... they're everything puppies should be!

There were originally eight little ones, and two have already convinced their foster family they weren't going anywhere (we completely understand!). That leaves these precious pups looking for families of their own.

Now about 9 weeks old, they're growing like weeds, and each one is cuter than the last. They've been raised not only by their wonderful parents but have also been well socialized with other dogs, giving them a great start in life.

Like all puppies, they are active, playful, curious, and into everything! They'll need families who understand that puppies require patience, consistency, house training, socialization, and positive reinforcement as they grow. The time you invest now will reward you with a loyal companion for years to come.

If you're looking for a fun, happy puppy to grow up with your family, don't wait too long!

Interested? Fill out an application today! Submitting an application doesn't lock you into adopting, but it does get you in line to meet these adorable little ones. We have a feeling they won't be available for long!

This requirement benefits both you and your puppy by providing the tools and support to build a successful, lifelong relationship.

Please Think Carefully Before Adopting a Puppy
Puppies are adorable—but they are also a lot of work! Before applying, please consider whether you're ready for the commitment.
~ Puppies cannot be crated for more than 3–4 hours at a time while they are young.
~ Your home will need to be puppy-proofed.
~ Puppies chew, scratch, nip, and have accidents while learning if you have young children, consider whether they are prepared for normal puppy behavior.
~ Consistent training, socialization, exercise, and patience are essential.
~ Most importantly, make sure you have the time and commitment a puppy deserves.

Important Information: Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs are cared for in foster homes throughout the South and New England.

Your adoption donation helps cover veterinary care, transportation, and other expenses for your adopted dog. It also helps us continue to save senior dogs and dogs with serious medical needs or injuries. While their adoption donations are often reduced, their veterinary costs are typically much higher.

When you adopt a young, healthy dog or puppy, you're also helping us give another dog a second chance. Thank you for supporting our mission and making rescue possible.
