Rex’s future is looking much brighter than his past! Picked up as a stray and never claimed, it was clear from the start that Rex had once known the comforts of home. He settled into foster care beautifully, and now that he’s in New England, he’s ready to find the forever family he deserves.

Rex is a happy, social, easygoing guy who genuinely loves people. He enjoys meeting new friends and has shown that he can play very nicely with other dogs. But after getting to know him better, we’ve learned something important about Rex: he really seems to prefer being his family’s one and only dog.

So if you’re looking for one great dog rather than two, Rex could be your guy! He doesn’t need a canine roommate to be happy. He enjoys playing with other dogs when given the opportunity, but he is perfectly content focusing on his people and being the center of attention at home.

His foster family has also been impressed with his manners. Rex is wonderful in his crate, keeps it clean, has had no accidents, and doesn’t try to escape. He knows several commands, including “Load Up,” and happily hops into the car or SUV—so he’s always ready for a road trip or adventure.

Rex has a nice medium energy level. He enjoys getting out, playing, and being active, but he also knows how to settle down and relax with his people when the fun is over. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be included in family life and is happiest when he’s hanging out with his humans.

Rex has come a long way, and his foster family says he is a wonderful houseguest. Now he just needs a family who will give him the love, attention, and forever home he deserves.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
