Meet Posey — A Survivor Looking for Her Happily Ever After

Posey is a stunning white pittie girl with a story that will break your heart and make you admire her resilience all at once.

She was first spotted wandering the streets of Memphis, heavily pregnant and completely on her own. Numerous people reported seeing her, and many tried desperately to trap her, knowing she could give birth at any moment. Then she disappeared.

When Posey was seen again, she was no longer pregnant. She had a male dog by her side, but her puppies were nowhere to be found. Despite extensive searching by concerned community members, her babies were never located.

A dedicated Memphis animal advocate made it her mission to save Posey. After weeks of persistence and coordination with Animal Control, Posey was finally trapped and brought to Memphis Animal Services. That's where her next chapter began. We stepped in, welcomed her into rescue, and made sure she would never have to fend for herself again.

Since arriving in New England, Posey has shown us what a wonderful companion she can be. She absolutely adores people. At the veterinary clinic, she quickly became a staff favorite, soaking up attention and winning hearts wherever she went. She loves human companionship and is happiest when she's with her people.

We've also learned that Posey would prefer to be the only dog in her home. While she was found traveling with another dog and may ultimately prove compatible with certain canine friends, we're currently seeking a home where she doesn't have to share her living space with other dogs. Interestingly, she can see dogs out on walks and in public without issue—it's sharing her home environment that seems more challenging.

After surviving life on the streets, losing her puppies, and overcoming so much uncertainty, this beautiful girl deserves a safe home, a soft bed, and people who will love her for the rest of her life.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need
