Sandy is a sweet, soulful older puppy with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit that shines brighter every day. Rescued during a harsh ice storm in Texas alongside her sister Lucy (also for adoption), Now safe and warm in a foster home, she’s learning what it truly means to feel secure—and her affectionate nature is beginning to blossom.

Though a bit shy when meeting new people, Sandy warms up quickly and reveals her true self: a cuddly, loving girl who adores pets, hugs, and being close to her people. She’s housetrained with a doggie door, comfortable in a crate, and fine on leash walks with a harness.

Sandy gets along beautifully with children over five, other dogs, and even cats, making her a lovely addition to many types of homes. While her sister Lucy tends to take on the slightly mischievous younger sibling role, Sandy plays “bossy big sister” role, but is full of charm and personality.

This precious girl will thrive in a home where she can receive lots of love, and continue with her basic training as she grows into the amazing companion she’s meant to be. With a little patience and a lot of heart, Sandy is sure to become a devoted and cherished member of the family lucky enough to call her their own.

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact.

PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
