Pawpaw
Size: Medium
Age: Baby
Gender: Male
Breeds: Australian Shepherd, Poodle
Hello there—meet Pawpaw. Yes, like a grandpa! He earned his charming name thanks to the little mustache on his face that makes him look like a wise old gentleman, even though he’s still just a young pup. If Pawpaw were in a movie, he’d definitely play the investigator—the one carefully watching everything, sniffing out clues, and figuring things out before making his move.Age: Baby
Gender: Male
Breeds: Australian Shepherd, Poodle
Pawpaw was part of an unexpected, unwanted litter, but he’s ready to turn the page and begin a wonderful new chapter with a family of his own.
This sweet boy is incredibly friendly and gets along beautifully with both older dogs and younger pups. He’s a generous little guy too—happy to share his food, toys, and even his cozy bed with his canine friends.
Pawpaw is naturally curious, though he can be a bit thoughtful and cautious when encountering something new. He likes to take a moment to observe his surroundings before jumping right in. But don’t let that fool you—he is a very gentle soul who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Once he realizes everything is safe, his loving and affectionate personality shines through.
He is making great progress with housetraining and enjoys spending time with his foster family whenever they are home. Pawpaw currently has free roam of the house, except when he is crated at night or when the family leaves.
Pawpaw would thrive with an active family who understands that sometimes he just needs a little moment to take in a new environment. With a bit of patience and plenty of love, he will become a loyal and devoted companion—your very own little detective, always nearby and quietly watching over the people he loves.

PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?
IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
