Luna is one of the lucky ones — she has known the comfort of home, the rhythm of family life, and what it means to be loved. Adopted from a shelter as a young puppy, she didn’t grow up on the streets. Instead, she spent the past 10 months living in a busy household alongside four young children and another young dog.Age: Baby
Gender: Female
Breeds: Shepherd, Crossbreed
Unknown with Cats
When her family was faced with unexpected allergy concerns, Luna and her Aussie sister were posted as “free to a good home.” Thankfully, our southern rescue partner stepped in to ensure both girls would be placed safely and responsibly. Her sister has already found her happily-ever-after… and now it’s Luna’s turn.
Because Luna has lived successfully in a home environment, she comes with so many wonderful foundations already in place. She is both crate trained and house trained, and her previous family shared that she is very smart and already knows several tricks (we’re excited to keep discovering all her talents!). She lived peacefully with children ages 2–7 and did beautifully in the hustle and bustle of family life.
Luna may give a quick alert bark when meeting someone new — just her way of announcing, “Hey, who’s this?” — but she warms up nicely with a proper introduction and gentle reassurance. Once she knows you’re a friend, her affectionate, loyal personality shines through.
This girl truly offers the best of both worlds. She loves to be active — dog park adventures and swimming are high on her favorites list — but she also has a wonderfully snuggly side and is perfectly content curling up in your lap when the day winds down.
Luna is still settling into her foster home (as any dog would after a big life change), and we’ll continue to learn more about her preferences with other pets. What we already know is that she has a strong foundation as a family dog and is ready to bring that same love and companionship to her next home.
Luna’s highlights:
• Raised in a home since puppyhood
• Lived successfully with young children
• Crate trained and house trained
• Smart and eager to please
• Loves swimming and staying active
• Sweet, affectionate, and loyal
Luna isn’t starting from scratch — she’s already proven she knows how to be a wonderful family companion. She’s simply looking for her next chapter with a family ready to welcome her home.
Could Luna be the missing piece your family has been waiting for?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
