Gigi is a Labradoodle who was given a heartbreaking start in life. She was one of many dogs abandoned by a local breeder and was left on a rural road in the heat of summer when she was only four months old. Thankfully, Gigi found her way to safety and into a loving foster home. In foster care, Gigi quickly bonded with her foster mom and fell in love with the other rescued dogs in the home, all waiting for their own forever families.
Gigi has a fun, social personality and sometimes struggles to decide whether she wants to play with her four-legged friends or be petted by the humans around her—she truly enjoys both. She has played well with dogs of all sizes, from a Saint Bernard mix to Chihuahuas.
Gigi has attended training classes and understands basic commands, though she will need continued reminders and consistency. She is highly food-motivated and loves her treats and meals. She crates well and is comfortable resting there, although she occasionally asks for extra playtime after coming in from outdoor fun, especially with both younger and senior dogs in her foster home.
She would love the opportunity to relax on the sofa or lie beside her person on the floor—something she hasn’t been able to do yet due to the number of foster dogs in her current home.
Gigi is still working on house training. While she does well in her crate and knows to go outside to relieve herself, she will benefit from a regular routine. She is also a bit of a counter surfer and knows exactly where food preparation happens. Gigi has not lived with children but been exposed to children around 7 years old and did well.
She could be happy as an only dog with someone who has time to devote to her, or in a home with another friendly dog. While she enjoys canine companionship, Gigi truly loves her human interactions and would thrive in a home where she can be an included and cherished family member.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
