Meet Bert & Ernie — floppy ears, happy hearts, and nonstop smiles. If you love beagles, Bert & Ernie will steal your heart.

Bert is the picture-perfect beagle boy—about 12-18 months old, happy-go-lucky, with ears that flop when he runs and a personality that matches his smile. He’s cheerful, friendly, and always seems excited about whatever comes next.

Ernie looks like a black-and-tan coonhound in a beagle-sized body and may be a few months younger than Bert. He’s just as sweet, just as happy, and brings his own gentle charm to the duo. These boys currently share a kennel and eat together with no issues at all. They’ve been introduced to other dogs, including another female beagle and a much larger Great Dane/Pit mix , and they did wonderfully with both. They’re social, friendly, and take new experiences in stride.

Bert and Ernie do not have to be adopted together, but they genuinely enjoy each other’s company and would make excellent companions for another dog—or for each other. Whether adopted as a pair or individually, each of these boys is ready to bring laughter, love, and classic beagle charm into a forever home.

We call them the Beagle Boys because everywhere they go, joy follows. Bert is your classic beagle. Ernie is a coonhound soul in a beagle body.

They don’t have to stay together—but they sure do love being together. They’re not Beastie Boys… They’re the BEAGLE BOYS.

Adopt one or adopt both — either way, you’re getting joy on four legs.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
