Ready to meet your new best friend? We're talking your shadow, your ride-or-die, your wing woman. If so, meet Kady, a soft-hearted girl who carries herself with a quiet grace and a deep love for the people she trusts. Age: Young
Gender: Female
Breeds: Catahoula Leopard Dog, Pit Bull Terrier
No Dogs/Cats
She is a thoughtful girl who blossoms with gentle guidance and clear expectations. But most importantly, she's down to be your bestie, whether that means going for a walk, playing fetch in the yard, or snuggling on the couch. She's here for all of it.
Kady’s journey hasn’t been easy—she was found abandoned and tied to a fence at Memphis Animal Services. Thankfully, her story took a hopeful turn when one of our dedicated southern rescuers stepped forward to welcome her into a loving foster home. She has been found to be the kind of dog who stays close, watching, listening, and choosing connection with her people.
Kady moved to New England foster home in March and from what we have seen, she has excellent house manners, including house and crate training. This girl also walks so politely on a leash. She takes food and treats gently, and does a funny tippy-tap march with her paws when she's excited.
She loves Nyla bones and wants to show her bone to you, taking it in her mouth and proudly parading through the house with it.
Kady absolutely adores people and we feel that she will do best with adults and older children. She forms strong bonds with her humans and takes great comfort in being part of the family’s daily life. A home where there is someone home to hang out with her more often than not would be ideal, and she'd much rather be with you than be alone.
She can have a bit of initial anxiety when entering the car, but then chills and lays down. She is just an all-around great dog and would make a wonderful addition to a family.
When it comes to other dogs, Kady prefers all the attention, she is perfectly happy as the only dog, soaking up all the love and attention for herself. She needs a home that will respect her needs and not bring other dogs or cats into her space or her into their space. She is fine to pass other dogs on walks and has no issues with them. She just does not want them in her space and thinks there is nothing wrong with being the "only" child.
She is an active lady that enjoys walks and hikes and would benefit from regular outings to keep her body and mind engaged. She also has a great time playing with water from a hose as you can see here:

A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus for outdoor playtime, especially for adopters who may not do long daily walks.
Kady is ready for adoption and hoping for a home where she can feel safe, understood, and truly cherished. In the right environment, she’ll reward her family with loyalty, affection, and the quiet joy of a dog who knows she’s finally home.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
