Say hello to Hickory, the pint-sized pittie with a tender heart and a hilarious personality. He walks beautifully on a leash, loves nothing more than curling up on the couch, and absolutely thrives when playing with his foster dog siblings.

Hickory’s past is mostly unknown, but the moment his foster mom saw his photo, she knew he deserved a chance. Since stepping into what is likely his first real home, he has blossomed into the sweetest, silliest little companion.

Hickory’s personality highlights include:
• The Vacuum Chronicles: He isn’t scared of it… no, no. Hickory believes it is his sole responsibility to protect the family from that loud dirt-sucking monster. A noble guardian.
• Booty-Scratch Enthusiast: He would like to formally request that booty scratches be provided daily, ideally on demand.
• Nighttime Serenades: If he needs a midnight potty break, he gently (and by gently, we mean enthusiastically) howls at you to let you know. His communication skills are impressive.

Every day, Hickory learns a little more about trust, love, and what it feels like to finally be safe. He’s ready for a home that will laugh at his quirks, cherish his sweetness, and keep cheering him on as he grows into the amazing dog he was always meant to be.

This precious boy is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he’s just fine on leash or during car rides.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
