Meet Hickory, a strikingly handsome boy with a tender heart, a gentle soul, and a quietly hilarious personality that shines once he feels safe.

Hickory’s past is largely unknown, but from the moment his foster mom saw his photo, she knew he deserved a chance to feel secure and loved.

While he may take a little time to build trust, it’s well worth the wait.
Hickory is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and once he settles in, his sweet, affectionate nature comes through in the most pleasing ways.
He walks beautifully on leash, enjoys calm car rides, and is happiest when curled up on the couch or romping around with his foster dog siblings—having other dogs around truly helps him thrive.
He also loves to belly dance to tunes:

Now known to us, Hickory will require a home with another dog (or dogs) and his primary caregiver must be female.
Hickory can live with men and older children (12+), as long as everyone is willing to follow his cues and allow him to move at his own pace—he just simply feels most comfortable bonding with women.

This special boy is looking for a patient family who will understand & advocate for him, respect his boundaries and appreciate him exactly as he is.
If you are willing to give him the time, space, and love he needs, you will be rewarded. Hickory will be a deeply loyal, loving companion—and a truly special addition to the right home.
