Roscoe’s foster can’t say it enough: he is one of the most adoptable, truly perfect dogs she’s cared for in years. Easygoing, affectionate, and wonderfully well-rounded, Roscoe is the kind of dog who slips seamlessly into your life and makes it instantly brighter.
Roscoe’s journey hasn’t been without its twists. He was originally found as a stray at about a year old by a loving family who welcomed him into their home alongside their toddler, newborn, and three other large dogs. He thrived there for a year, but when a family member faced a medical crisis requiring hospitalization, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him so he could continue receiving the care and attention he deserved.
True to his nature, Roscoe adjusted beautifully to his foster home. He is confident, friendly, and incredibly resilient—exactly the kind of dog who walks into new situations with a wagging tail and an open heart.
He’s a dream on leash and knows his basics well: sit, down, stay (most of the time!), and shake. His recall is excellent, and he’ll trot right over and plop into a perfect sit the moment he reaches you.
And if you really want to win him over? A good ol’ butt scratch is his love language.
Roscoe is the whole package for an active, engaged family—especially one with kids or other dogs. He’s lived harmoniously with both, and his gentle, happy-go-lucky personality makes him an easy fit in just about any home.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s already proven himself to be a steady, loving, and joy-filled presence, Roscoe is ready to meet you. This special boy is more than ready to start the next chapter of his life.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
