Meet Xander!
Xander is a wonderful, big-hearted boy with a beautiful soul who loves nothing more than being close to his people. A true people-pleaser, he thrives on attention and affection and will happily return it tenfold.

Xander was found as a stray by two kind gentlemen and brought safely to his foster home when no one came forward to claim him. Since then, he has blossomed into a happy, playful, and loving companion who’s ready to find a forever family of his own.

This handsome guy loves to play with other dogs—especially those who enjoy a good, highly spirited game of chase or wrestle. While he does need to be fed separately (he prefers to keep his food to himself), it’s an easy routine to manage. He may try to chase a cat in play, but never with the intention to harm.

Xander is also wonderful with children of all ages. He loves to run and play with younger kids and is equally happy soaking up love and petting from older adults.
He has a nice balance of energy—enough to keep up with an active household but not so much that he’d overwhelm a calmer one.

He walks nicely on a leash (though he might pull a little if excited), rides well in the car, is completely house-trained, and happily uses his crate—often going in on his own to nap or settle down.

Xander would thrive in an active home where he can run, play, and enjoy toys. He’d be thrilled to have a canine companion who loves to play as much as he does, but he’d be just as happy with people as long as they will give him the love, exercise, and attention he craves.

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving friend, Xander might just be your perfect match!

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
