This handsome boy appears to be a Lab/Beagle mix, and at a point in his life, he did have a family. Somewhere along the way, though, his story took a heartbreaking turn. He was abandoned in a rural Mississippi neighborhood, tossed from a truck like he didn’t matter. We may never understand why—but what we do know is that Charlie has the kindest, most loving heart.
Charlie is about 3 years old and carries a few physical scars from his past, but his foster mom says they only add to his charm and character.
He’s the definition of a loyal companion—happy to sit at your feet while you relax, lean into you for head scratches, or keep you company on the porch. He does fine on leash and morning and evening walks are his favorite, giving him the chance to take in every smell and sight around him.
Charlie has wonderful manners and is already both house and crate trained. He’s also a calm companion in the car, ready to ride along wherever life takes you. With his easygoing nature and adaptability, he’s the perfect partner for everyday adventures as well as quiet nights at home.
This precious guy is also gentle with kids, patient, and affectionate.
Charlie is heartworm positive, but he has already begun the steps toward treatment and is on his way to recovery. His treatment will be supported and paid for by the rescue, so his future family can focus on giving him the love he deserves.
If you’re searching for a happy-go-lucky best friend who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Charlie is your guy.
He loves to play fetch too!! Video link below:

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
