If you can’t look at Hattie and think “Oh my gosh! How cute is this dark-chocolate, speckled, pointy-eared girl?!”… then we might question your taste in dogs. Just playing, but we do think she is stunning.

Hattie is the observer of her litter—the one who notices everything. She loves to play, hop, and run around, but she also has a calm, thoughtful side. While her siblings might be wrestling in a pile, you’ll often find Hattie just a couple feet away, tugging on a toy while keeping an eye on the action. It’s like she’s soaking up every new experience, carefully taking in this exciting, brand-new life.

Unfortunately, Hattie and her littermates were discarded before they ever had a chance at a real home. At first, we thought they were tiny four-month-old pups, but the vet surprised us by aging them closer to nine months old. Because of that, they’ve needed a little extra time and patience to adjust. Hattie in particular has been learning to balance her gentle, watchful nature with the courage to step forward and engage. She may start out quietly observing, but give her a little space and she’ll surprise you with her playful spark and eagerness to connect.

She’s the perfect mix of playful and mindful—a pup who will happily join in the fun but also pause to watch and learn.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
