Meet Harper & River – A Bond Forged by SurvivalAge: Baby
Gender: Female

Unknown with Cats
Some siblings are close, but Harper and River’s bond is unbreakable. Found as strays in Mississippi, their early life was far from safe or loving. When their adopter threatened to “toss them out” for supposedly being aggressive, their rescuer, Lindsey, rushed to pick them up. The truth was heartbreaking—these pups weren’t aggressive, they were sick. Very sick.
At the veterinarian’s office, tests confirmed they had parvo, a deadly puppy disease. Lindsey didn’t hesitate. Even though donations from friends fell short, she paid out of pocket to make sure they got the lifesaving treatment they needed. Two to three weeks later, they’re thriving—healthy, happy, and so very ready to find their forever family.
💛 Why They Must Stay Together
Harper isn’t just River’s sister—she’s his anchor. River is believed to be deaf, and he watches her constantly for cues. Wherever Harper goes, River is close behind. They’re truly two halves of one whole.
✨ Meet the Duo
Harper – The brains and the boldness. She’s fast, playful, a little rough-and-tumble, and incredibly smart. She already comes when called and is learning her name quickly.
River – The gentle soul. A touch more reserved, but endlessly sweet and affectionate. He loves toy time, goes wild for treats, and melts for gentle pets. He follows Harper’s lead and takes comfort in her presence.
💲 Adoption Fee – $600 for both. Their next home must be loving, patient, and committed to giving them the kindness they’ve been denied in their first months of life.
If you have the space in your heart (and home) for not just one, but two amazing survivors, Harper and River are waiting to fill your life with double the joy.

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.
PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?
IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if required.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
