Meet Austin—a teeny shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger future ahead of him!
Austin's start in life is a little murky, but when we learned he needed help, we stepped in—$80 later, he was safe in our care, and we were more than happy to give him a second chance.
Now in a foster home, Austin is thriving. He’s a happy, healthy little guy who’s received his first vaccine and a clean bill of health from the vet. Like any young pup, he’s full of energy, curiosity, and playfulness—and he’ll need a home ready for all the fun (and responsibility) that comes with raising a puppy.
Keep in mind: puppies require time, training, and consistency. Long workdays (8–10 hours) won’t work for a puppy unless you have reliable help. A good rule of thumb is that puppies can be crated for about one hour per month of age, so a 3-month-old pup can only manage around 3 hours.
If you’ve got the time, patience, and love to give, Austin’s sweet little face is hard to resist. Apply today and give him the forever home he deserves!

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.
PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change that this puppy will bring. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?
IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
