Bruno is a big-hearted, playful pup with the soul of a gentle giant.

He showed up one night and never left – probably because he found love, comfort, and a soft couch. He wrestles sweetly with puppies (never too rough), shares space with a cat, and will take naps on the same bed. https://youtu.be/eHPlSqDtukY
He also adores petting from his foster's 4-year-old granddaughter. And ignores the resident chickens.

This guy has fantastic house manners: he's fully house-trained, respects furniture, doesn't chew or get into things, and uses a doggy door like a pro. He's not a fan of crates—likely due to past trauma—but he sleeps soundly in his chair or on the couch. Thunderstorms scare him, and he'll run to the door for safety.

Bruno has excellent recall, especially when roaming a fenced yard. He walks nicely on a leash—unless there's a squirrel but usually responds quickly when called off, which is good as he is very strong!

He adores car rides, hopping in happily and riding like a champ. More than anything, Bruno wants to be with his people. He's a "go everywhere" kind of dog who thrives on companionship and affection. Yes, he's large—but he's calm indoors.

Ideal Home:
Bruno would do best with an active family or individual who loves having their dog join them on adventures. He's good with savvy kids, other friendly dogs, and respectful cats. He'd be just as happy as an only dog too. He needs a securely fenced yard or must be leashed—this big boy lives to go. Most of all, he needs a family that embraces his lapdog heart and doesn't mind a big body curled up beside them at night.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
