Meet Leia, a beautiful, spirited young girl who is ready to find her true forever home. Age: Baby
Gender: Female
Breeds: Labrador Retriever, Terrier
Unknown with Cats
Leia’s story began in Mississippi, where she was heartbreakingly found abandoned on the side of the road in a wire kennel. She was adopted as a puppy, but her family soon realized they weren’t quite prepared for the energy and enthusiasm of a growing dog, so Leia returned to rescue—through no fault of her own.
Now, Leia is back in her foster home, shining with personality and joy. She’s a playful, energetic girl who loves to run, romp, and be part of the action.
She gets along well with other dogs, though she can be a bit too exuberant for smaller or senior pups. Because of her excitability, a home with older kids (around 12 and up) or younger dog-savvy children would be best.
Leia is smart and eager to please, already learning not to jump and showing she knows her basic commands.
She’s crate trained, housebroken, and settles nicely after a little initial whining.
She enjoys car rides, walks well on leash when solo (though she may pull when walking with other dogs), and adores her chew toys—just no plush ones, please, as she’s a power chewer!
Leia would thrive in an active home that will include her in adventures and continue her puppy training.
With structure, love, and playtime, she will continue to blossom into a loyal, happy companion who’ll keep you smiling every day.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
