Meet Faline, a beautiful 12-year-old female German Shepherd mix with a heart full of life and a playful spirit that defies her age.

At five years old, she was rescued from a high-kill shelter by a loving family who gave her a warm, safe home. She lived peacefully alongside another female dog, a cat, and shared a special bond with a teenage girl who was her closest human companion. Sadly, when her family had to relocate, they couldn’t bring their pets along—leaving Faline in need of a new forever home

Now in search of her next chapter, Faline brings with her the wisdom of experience and the warmth of a deeply loyal companion. She carries herself with both grace and strength. Despite her senior status, she’s still very much in her prime when it comes to playtime—especially with younger dogs. She’s been known to hold her own in rough-and-tumble games with pups less than two years old, showing that age is just a number.

This girl is also always up for a daily walk and would love a home that offers both activity and companionship. She also does great in the car. While she’d thrive in a household with other pets—especially a younger dog who will invite her to play—she would also do wonderfully as an only pet in a home where she’s the center of attention.

Faline does have a reserved side when it comes to people, especially outdoors. She won’t approach if you walk toward her, but if you sit down quietly, she’ll gladly come for affection, leaning in for pets and connection. She’s smart and perhaps a bit sly.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
