Coach Brown’s journey began four years ago as a beloved stray at a rural Mississippi ball field. The kids adored him and nicknamed him “Coach Brown” for his friendly nature and his warm brown coat. Every game day, he greeted the families with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes.

Thanks to the kindness of a local vet and her sons, Coach Brown was brought into rescue and quickly found a home through a rescue organization. His adopters kept in touch, sending updates and photos for some time.

Recently, life took another turn for Coach Brown. His adoptive family, who had since moved to Florida, reached out to return him due to personal circumstances.
With the original rescue no longer operating, he made his way back to north Mississippi and into the care of one of our dedicated southern fosters.

Coach Brown adjusted well to his foster home and enjoyed time with her pack, but a conflict with another dog revealed he prefers to be the center of attention. We later learned he had been kept separate at daycare too, which supports our belief that he’ll thrive best as an only dog.

This boy is crate trained, leash trained, and absolutely loves people—especially lounging on the couch beside his foster mom, Anna. He’s even done well with cats in the past.

Coach Brown is looking for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy the companionship he craves. He’s had quite a journey—and he’s ready for his forever chapter.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
