Sweet Leo, a lovable, friendly, and playful pup looking for his forever home!

Born a stray in rural Mississippi, Leo’s early life wasn’t easy. As a puppy, he was chained to a tree with no shelter, but thanks to the quick action of our southern rescue partner, he was rescued and given the loving care he deserves.

Leo is a social butterfly! He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and ages, happily sharing space with his numerous foster siblings. He's also been introduced to outside cats on his walks and shows no interest in them.

Leo is great with kids, including his foster family's grandsons aged 10, 5, and 3. He’s gentle, loves to cuddle, and enjoys playing with them without being too rough.

Every morning, Leo runs out to the backyard to play with his foster siblings, and after a bit of fun, they all come inside for breakfast and a nap. Leo loves his outdoor playtime and looks forward to it multiple times throughout the day.
This happy boy is a joy on walks, perfectly mannered on a leash, and enjoys his daily strolls. He’s also a great travel buddy, doing wonderfully on car rides.

Leo is fully housetrained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. If he’s missed, he’s content using training pads.

He is also is crate trained, sleeping soundly in his crate at night and staying there without making a fuss when unattended.

While Leo appears to be blind in his right eye, it doesn't slow him down at all—he’s as happy and active as can be!

Leo would thrive in an active home with a family who will take him on walks, adventures, and plenty of outdoor playtime.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
