Gracie is a sweet and gentle 11-year-old Havanese recently surrendered to our rescue due to her owner’s life changes. While it’s never easy to see a senior dog in this situation, we’re committed to ensuring Gracie lands on all four paws in a loving forever home.Age: Senior

Gracie is new to our rescue, so we’re still getting to know her better. Here’s what we’ve learned so far:
-> Affectionate and Loyal: Gracie doesn’t like being left alone for long periods and would thrive with someone who can spend plenty of time with her.
-> House-Trained (Mostly!): She is primarily house-trained, though she’s had a few accidents as she’s gotten older—nothing unusual for a senior dog.
-> Healthy and Well-Cared For: Gracie has a solid vet history, has received routine care, and has no current medical needs.
Quiet and Independent: She’s lived as the only pet and would prefer to keep it that way. While her previous owner reported that she’s okay around other dogs, she’s not interested in playing with them. Cats are unknown, so a feline-free home would likely be best.
Gracie has already shown her sweet and calm nature in her foster home, spending her days relaxing and slowly venturing out from her favorite spot in her dog bed.
She would make an excellent companion for someone who is home often, perhaps a retired individual or someone with a quieter lifestyle who can give her the love and attention she deserves.
As we learn more about Gracie during her foster care time, we’ll share updates with potential adopters. For now, we’re confident this loving senior has so much companionship to offer her future family. Could that be you?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
