Bonnie was found in a Memphis neighborhood one night, left without a collar and with only a small amount of food. When her current foster parents saw a post in their local Facebook group about a family who had found her but couldn't keep her, they decided to take her in to ensure she wouldn’t end up in a shelter.

Bonnie is a red heeler mix, weighing about 45 pounds. She is crate-trained, potty-trained, and knows basic commands like "sit" and "come here."

At night, she sleeps soundly in her crate at the foot of their bed, even when they get up.

During the workday, she does wonderfully in her crate—though they make sure not to leave her for more than five hours at a time and give her 30-50 minutes of playtime at lunch. She thrives when she's free to roam, play, or entertain herself with her dog toys.

Bonnie is great on a leash, though she can be a bit protective when she encounters other dogs. However, once she has a chance to interact off-leash, she warms up quickly. She's absolutely amazing with kids, being both playful and gentle.

Bonnie is spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations and in excellent health.

She adores people, loves to cuddle, and is a joy to have around the house. Bonnie is a sweet, affectionate girl who will bring light and love to any home.

If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Bonnie might just be the perfect fit!

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
