Meet Gracie.....truly a brave survivor. This awe-inspiring girl has such a heartwarming story of courage and perseverance. Age: Adult
Gender: Female
Breeds: Pit Bull Terrier, Crossbreed
Unknown with Cats
Gracie spent an incredible 555 days surviving on her own before being successfully trapped by Missing Dogs of MA. She has since started to blossom during her time in a loving foster home, where she’s been given the care, patience, and training to rediscover her confidence and trust in people.
Gracie is a shy dog with soulful eyes that will capture your heart in a second. While she takes time to warm up to new faces, her sweet and gentle nature shines through once she feels safe. She lights up around other dogs, so having a furry sibling or two to learn from would be ideal.
While on the run, it was believed that Gracie was hit by a car and injured her hip. She underwent a successful femoral head ostectomy (FHO). She’s been making incredible progress with physical therapy and is expected to make a full recovery. She will enjoy an active, pain-free life.
Gracie has been working on basic commands, leash walking, and learning to trust humans. Her foster family has done an amazing job helping her come out of her shell, and she’s now ready for the next chapter of her journey.
This girl thrives in a calm environment where her people understand her need to adjust at her own pace. Her adopters will need patience and understanding that Gracie is not (yet) a pooch that will jump on the couch and cuddle next to you.
Given her history, a securely fenced yard is a must to ensure her safety and provide her a space to explore confidently.
Gracie’s journey has been remarkable, and she’s ready to give her heart to a family who will love her unconditionally.
Could you be the one to show this amazing pup that she’s finally home?
