With her charming white “knee-highs” on her front legs and a sweet spirit that shines through her timidity, Jersey is a special girl who blossoms slowly but beautifully in the right setting. Although she wasn’t given the chance to socialize properly as a puppy due to circumstances beyond her control, she’s making thoughtful progress every day as she learns to trust.

💖 Jersey’s Nature:
- Jersey is timid around humans right now, needing time and patience to feel safe.
- While she may not always want physical affection, she finds comfort in knowing where her person is and having them nearby.
- She’s extremely sweet and observant—quietly soaking in affection through presence more than touch.
- Jersey thrives with other dogs and gets along beautifully with cats. A confident canine companion in her new home would help her continue building confidence.

🌿 Ideal Home:
Jersey flourishes in calm, quiet, country-style surroundings where she can settle in gently and build trust at her own pace. She does well in households of any gender and would be happiest with another dog for companionship. A confident canine companion is required. A fenced in yard, although generally not required, would truly benefit Jersey's journey in learning the world is a beautiful place.

Abandoned alongside her mama in the South, Jersey came into rescue as the shyest of her litter. Though her siblings have found homes, Jersey is still waiting for her moment. Each day she shows a little more courage, reminding us of how resilient love can be.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
