Meet Mr. Bergamot — A Sweet Survivor Ready to Bloom! Age: Baby
Gender: Male
Breeds: Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd Dog
Bergamot is a handsome Shepherd/Lab mix with a gentle heart, playful spirit, and lots of love to give!
Born into a litter of seven puppies in rural Mississippi, Bergamot and his siblings had a rough start. They were found severely underweight, covered in fleas, and suffering from intestinal parasites. Thankfully, a compassionate city worker stepped in, and one of our wonderful southern rescue partners provided the medical care, nourishment, and love they desperately needed. Today, Bergamot is healthy, happy, and thriving!
This sweet boy is making up for lost puppy time! He loves running and wrestling with his siblings, splashing in kiddie pools, and even playing on the trampoline! After all that fun, he's more than happy to settle in for some snuggles with his favorite humans.
Bergamot is great with children and cats, and he's already crate trained and making wonderful progress with housetraining and leash training. He's smart, eager to learn, and looking for a family committed to continuing his puppy training while providing plenty of exercise, playtime, and affection.
Bergamot has come such a long way from his difficult beginnings. Now all he needs is a loving family to give him the happy ending he deserves. Could this sweet Mississippi boy be the missing piece of your family?

Important Information
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs are cared for in foster homes throughout the South and New England.
Your adoption donation helps cover veterinary care, transportation, and other expenses for your adopted dog. It also helps us continue to save senior dogs and dogs with serious medical needs or injuries. While their adoption donations are often reduced, their veterinary costs are typically much higher.
When you adopt a young, healthy dog or puppy, you're also helping us give another dog a second chance. Thank you for supporting our mission and making rescue possible.
