Meet Rip — A Sweet Boy Learning What It Means to Be Home.Age: Baby
Gender: Male
Breeds: Pointer, Terrier
No Cats
Rip is a handsome Pointer/Terrier mix with a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give. After spending time roaming with his brother, Rebel (also available for adoption) Rip is discovering just how wonderful life can be in a safe, loving home.
A little shy at first, Rip is coming out of his shell more every day as he learns that people can be trusted. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and has done wonderfully with the dogs in his foster home. He is a big fan of the foster’s grandchild. Kids, dogs, and playtime? Rip is in!
Rip is crate trained and happily settles in his crate while his foster is at work. He’s also learning to walk on a leash and is making progress with house training, although he still has an occasional accident. After everything he has been through, Rip is simply learning the basics of being a house dog—and he’s doing his best.
Rip would love a patient family who will continue teaching him and give him time to build confidence. A home with another playful dog or children could be a wonderful fit for this sweet, playful boy.
Rip has already learned that being safe feels good. Now he just needs someone to show him how amazing it can be to have a family.

>Puppies should not be crated for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
>Your home will need to be puppy-proofed.
>Expect chewing, nipping, scratching, accidents, and lots of supervision while they learn.
>If you have young children, be sure they're prepared for normal puppy behavior.
>Training, socialization, exercise, and consistency are essential.
Unless you're an experienced dog owner and your Adoption Coordinator is comfortable with your experience, you will be required to attend puppy training and/or behavior classes. Our goal is to help you and your puppy build a happy, successful, lifelong relationship.
Important Information
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs are cared for in foster homes throughout the South and New England.
Your adoption donation helps cover veterinary care, transportation, and other expenses for your adopted dog. It also helps us continue to save senior dogs and dogs with serious medical needs or injuries. While their adoption donations are often reduced, their veterinary costs are typically much higher.
