Poppy’s story began when she was sadly dumped behind a restaurant in Texas called Pop’s—so, of course, this sweet little survivor became Poppy. Thankfully, those difficult days are behind her, and she is now safe in a foster home where her fun, affectionate personality is shining through.

Poppy is a happy, playful puppy who loves running and romping around with all of her canine foster siblings. She also does well with cats, although if one decides to run, Poppy may think that means the chase is on!

With her gentle and affectionate nature, she's a friend to everyone she meets, and her playful spirit keeps everyone around her entertained. She absolutely loves people and has done wonderfully with children of all ages. She's also a total cuddle bug, loving nothing more than snuggling up and showering her family with kisses. Her fluffy coat is perfect for extra-soft cuddles, and her playful, silly nature will keep you laughing and loving her even more.

This curious girl enjoys getting out and exploring. She does pretty well on a leash, although she may pull a little when something catches her attention. She is also a great traveler and settles nicely in her crate during car rides.

Poppy is rock-solid crate trained, sleeping quietly through the night and doing wonderfully when crated. Because there are many dogs in her foster home and she doesn’t have the opportunity to freely roam the house, her housetraining status isn’t fully known yet. Like any young puppy, she’ll need a family willing to continue helping her learn all the things she needs to know as she grows.

With her athletic build, Poppy is ready to take on all sorts of fun activities with her new family. She's the perfect companion for an active lifestyle and will be by your side through all your adventures, offering her brave and gentle spirit to guide you through. Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.  

Adoption fees cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary. The adoption fee is set at a level that enables adoption; they do not cover our costs. Thank you for your generosity and interest in our dogs!

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
