Meet lovely Lainey!

Lainey was found as a stray when she was just a young pup and was lucky enough to wander into the lives of a wonderful family who was new to North Mississippi. They took her in, kept her safe, got her the vetting she needed, and helped her grow into the healthy, happy girl she is today. When it came time to find Lainey a forever home, they reached out for help—and lucky for Lainey, she landed with PAWS New England!

Lainey is between 5 and 6 months old, and one thing she definitely is NOT is little! This girl is already 49 pounds of love, affection, personality, and—of course—puppy energy!

Her vet and foster believe she has both Lab and Collie traits, which may explain why she is such a smart girl. Lainey is kennel trained, walks well on a leash, and absolutely loves everyone she meets. She already has the “sit” command down perfectly and has proven that she is a quick and eager learner.

Lainey does well around cats and would LOVE having another dog in her forever home—as long as that dog is ready to play, run, and keep up with her! She has plenty of energy and would make a great companion for an active family who wants a dog to be part of their adventures.

Like any puppy, Lainey is still learning her manners. Her biggest work in progress right now is jumping up when she gets excited. We’re pretty sure Lainey simply hasn’t gotten the memo that she’s already a big girl! She will need a family willing to continue working with her on her puppy manners and give her the exercise and structure a young, energetic dog needs.

The good news? Lainey is SMART. She wants to learn, she wants to please, and most of all, she wants to be loved.

She may be 49 pounds and growing, but underneath all that puppy energy is one incredibly sweet girl just waiting for a family to call her own.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.  

Adoption fees cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary. The adoption fee is set at a level that enables adoption; they do not cover our costs. Thank you for your generosity and interest in our dogs!

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
