Sleepy is one of nine puppies from two different litters - that's where this pup came from - traveled to Mississippi to foster homes here in New England - they are the lucky ones.

These pups started their lives by being abandoned on a farm in rural Mississippi - the owner of the farm and her hired helpers tried to care for them but sadly some got onto the road and were killed. That's when they went to Jessica of the Hernando Animal Shelter and asked for help - she said yes, used Paws NE if we would help, we also said yes, so now we need you to say yes - only to one, not all nine (lol).

Sleepy arrived in New England the weekend of 8/28 and is doing so well!
Don’t let her name fool you—Sleepy is a fun, silly, and energetic girl who is always ready for playtime!

She is a sweet, playful pup who loves nothing more than settling in for a good belly rub after a play session. Sleepy is brand new to home life, so some things are a bit new and mysterious to her, but she is building confidence every day.

Sleepy is not overly motivated by kibble or traditional treats, which explains why she is 4 lbs lighter than her brother, but hand her a bully stick or a fun toy and she is completely in her element.

Sleepy is already off to a fantastic start with crate training—sleeping soundly through the night from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM without a peep!

Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.
Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the adopter's responsibility.
Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)
Housetrained:  Not usually
Microchipped: Yes

Puppy Adoption Fee:  $500.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)
                                      $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee applies to Massachusetts residents.

Adoption Fee Includes:
~Preadoption vaccinations, complete examinations, and microchipping.
~Spay/neuter surgery rebate, paid to the adopter once proof of surgery is provided to Paws New England. We are happy to provide a list of low-cost spay/neuter clinics upon request.

ATTENTION: 
Puppies are wonderful—but they are also a big commitment. Before applying, please make sure you're ready for the time, patience, and training they require.

>Puppies should not be crated for more than 3–4 hours at a time.
>Your home will need to be puppy-proofed.
>Expect chewing, nipping, scratching, accidents, and lots of supervision while they learn.
>If you have young children, be sure they're prepared for normal puppy behavior.
>Training, socialization, exercise, and consistency are essential.  

Unless you're an experienced dog owner and your Adoption Coordinator is comfortable with your experience, you will be required to attend puppy training and/or behavior classes. Our goal is to help you and your puppy build a happy, successful, lifelong relationship.

Important Information

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs are cared for in foster homes throughout the South and New England.

Your adoption donation helps cover veterinary care, transportation, and other expenses for your adopted dog. It also helps us continue to save senior dogs and dogs with serious medical needs or injuries. While their adoption donations are often reduced, their veterinary costs are typically much higher.
