Unlike her famous namesake, this Leia wasn't busy escaping the Empire. Instead, she was wandering the countryside with another canine companion until the two were found as strays and brought to safety. Now she's patiently waiting in boarding for the forever family that will be incredibly lucky to call her their own.

At almost a year old, Leia is everything you could hope for in a young dog—playful, goofy, athletic, and always ready for her next adventure. She believes every dog is a potential best friend, every tennis ball is meant to be chased, and every day is an opportunity for fun.

Leia absolutely loves other dogs and thrives on playtime. Her cheerful, affectionate personality has a way of brightening everyone's day, and she's always eager to make new friends.

Those oversized ears? We're convinced they're tuned to hear the words, "Who's a good girl?" from galaxies away.

As a young Shepherd, Leia is smart, eager to learn, and looking for a family committed to continuing her training while giving her the exercise, guidance, and love she deserves. With patience, consistency, and plenty of belly rubs, she'll grow into an amazing lifelong companion.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
