Meet Brooke, a devoted mama with a gentle soul and a story of incredible resilience. During a brutal cold snap in Tennessee, when temperatures dropped into the single digits, Brooke was found outside caring for her newborn puppies. Despite the harsh conditions, this brave girl did everything she could to keep her babies safe until the team at Memphis Animal Services stepped in and brought the little family to safety. Her story even made the local news — a testament to her determination and strength as a mother.Age: Young
Gender: Female
Breeds: Shepherd, Labrador Retriever
No Cats
Now safe and thriving in a loving southern foster home, Brooke has done a wonderful job raising her puppies. They are now weaned and ready to begin their own journeys, which means it’s finally Brooke’s turn to find the forever home she has always deserved.
Brooke has a lovely, even temperament and is very good with adults. Once she settles in and feels comfortable, her gentle nature shines through, and she could do well in a home with older, respectful children.
She enjoys the company of medium to large dogs after slow, proper introductions. Brooke can feel a bit anxious around very small dogs, and she carries a confident, dominant female personality, but she has never shown aggression.
This sweet girl also enjoys the simple pleasures in life. She loves riding in the car—once she’s in, she happily watches the world go by through the window.
Brooke walks well on a leash and may pull occasionally, but she responds easily to gentle correction.
She enjoys spending time outside, especially basking in the sunshine, and she’s learning that relaxing inside a home can be pretty wonderful too.
After surviving the cold and raising her babies with such devotion, Brooke deserves a warm home, a soft place to rest, and a family who will love her for the rest of her days. With a little patience and kindness, this special girl will reward her new family with loyalty, quiet companionship, and a heart full of love.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
