Meet O’Malley — a gentle, tender-hearted boy with a quiet strength and an endless capacity for love.Age: Young
Gender: Male
Breeds: Australian Cattle Dog, Blue Heeler, Pit Bull Terrier
Unknown with Cats/Kids
For the first year and a half of his life, O’Malley survived the streets of South Memphis on his own. No warm bed, no reliable meals, no reassurance that he was safe.
And yet, despite everything he endured, he remains incredibly soft-natured, affectionate, and hopeful about what life could still become.
Now he’s ready for his next chapter — one with cozy blankets, full bowls, and a family who will show him that he never has to face the world alone again.
O’Malley was initially in boarding, where he enjoyed multiple daily potty breaks and walks. He was friendly and curious with the other dogs and appreciated the chance to explore his surroundings at his own pace.
Now in a foster home, he is a very sweet dog. He does need a brief moment to warm up to you, but then is your BFF. He is very treat motivated and takes them super gently. And he walks great on a leash!
O’Malley is the kind of dog who wants to be near his people, quietly soaking in their presence.
Because his early life was about survival rather than structure, he may need a little time to fully trust that this safe, stable life is here to stay.
Patience, consistency, and understanding will go a long way as he continues to learn what it means to be part of a home.
He’s looking for a compassionate adopter who understands his past and is willing to work through any bumps along the way.
In return, once O’Malley knows you’re his person, the bond you’ll share will be something truly special — not just the love of a dog, but the loyalty of a soul who finally knows he’s home.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
