Iggy checks all the boxes: he’s crate trained, potty trained, wonderful with kids, and gets along great with other dogs. He walks beautifully on a leash and settles into home life like he’s always belonged there. He’s easygoing, gentle, and has that calm, comforting presence that makes you instantly feel at peace. He LOVES going on little adventures, tagging along for car rides, making trips to the local Tractor Supply, and finding anyone he can to pet his big noggin.
But what truly makes Iggy special is his story.
This boy is a survivor. Not long ago, he was on the brink of death at an unimaginable weight of just 28 pounds — nearly three times smaller than the healthy, strong boy he is today. After getting to a healthy weight, Iggy completed heartworm treatment like a champ. He has spent the last year with our southern rescue partners healing — not just physically, but emotionally too. And through it all, Iggy didn’t just survive… he thrived.
Despite all he endured, he remained the sweetest, most affectionate dog you could imagine. He’s the kind who melts right into you for love (literally), the kind who quietly stays by your side, the kind who makes you wonder how in the world he hasn’t been scooped up already.
After everything he’s been through, Iggy is more than ready for a forever family to call his own. And whoever is lucky enough to adopt him isn’t just getting a good dog — they’re getting a truly special one.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
