Looking for a dog who can match your weekend adventures and your weeknight couch plans? Colby is your guy.

Colby is an oversized puppy at heart, complete with a soft, velvety coat and a personality that fills the room. At about 45 pounds, he is that just-right size dog who can keep up with the fun and then happily melt into a cuddle puddle beside you.
He is smart, eager to please, and endlessly affectionate, with a goofy streak that keeps life light and joyful.
Colby’s happiest moments are spent with his humans or playing with his doggy friends.

This precious boy was abandoned on the streets. Came up to his finder without hesitation and jumped into his van as if he belonged! No owner was located and he has been doing wonderfully in his foster homes since March 2025. We can't believe this amazingly fun pup has not been scooped up. PAWS is hoping to change that!!

At is foster home, his favorite activity is simple and sweet: stretching out next to his people on the floor, couch, or bed, preferably touching you just enough to remind you he’s there.

Colby currently lives in harmony with two children ages 5 and 6 and an adult dog, and he handles the hustle and bustle beautifully. He is not a jumper and is gentle with people.
While he has occasional spells of exuberant puppy energy, his overall energy level is moderate.

He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys an energetic but well-mannered play style that’s fun without being overwhelming.
He has been fostered in a home with free-roaming cats and, while he may show some curiosity, he has displayed no aggression—any chasing is more of an invitation to play than anything else.

He is crate trained, understands the command “kennel,” and settles in easily without issue. Housetraining is a work in progress, but he has made great strides now that he’s had the chance to learn from an older dog, responding well to consistency and positive rewards. He is eager to please and responds well to guidance, making him a wonderful candidate for continued training.
On leash, he walks politely, staying close to his person with no pulling or lunging at distractions. He also happens to be an excellent travel companion—calm and content in the car, he lies down in the back seat and often drifts off to sleep, making him a joy to bring along wherever the road leads.

Colby is looking for a home where he is truly part of the family. He wants to be included in the fun, the cuddles, the walks, and the everyday adventures that make life special. He is the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room, flop down nearby, and look at you so lovingly, like you’re his whole world.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
