Meet Mochi and Tofu — two incredibly sweet pups with hearts as big as their comeback story. Once sick, terrified, and nearly furless from mange and severe infections, they fought their way back to health with the help of devoted veterinary care and a loving rescue team. Their brother sadly didn’t survive, but these two little survivors spent a month in the hospital proving just how strong and determined they are.

Today, Mochi and Tofu are happy, playful, and full of life. Their coats have grown back beautifully, with only a couple of thin spots still catching up — a reminder of how far they’ve come. Now in their foster home, they’re discovering that the world can be safe, fun, and filled with love.

Life for these pups is all about routine and joy: breakfast and outdoor play in the morning, cozy crate naps while foster mom is at work, and then dinner followed by more puppy antics before bed. Because they came from a place where food wasn’t guaranteed, they’re still learning to trust that every meal will come — they eat separately to avoid arguing over who gets more, though they show no aggression with people.

Mochi and Tofu would thrive with an active couple or family, especially one that enjoys adventures like walks, runs, and hikes. Older children would be a great fit for their energy and enthusiasm.

After overcoming so much at such a young age, Mochi and Tofu are ready for the best part of their story — a forever home where they can continue to grow, explore, and be cherished every single day. Could that be with you?

Puppy Adoption Fee:  $600.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. 

The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicable

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  

PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
