Meet Shasta! Just as bubbly and full of life as the soda she’s named after, Shasta is a joyful, fun-loving pup ready to find her forever adventure buddy. Whether it’s a walk in the neighborhood, a car ride, or tagging along on your next outing, Shasta is happiest by your side.

Shasta’s journey started when she was found alone as a stray. A kind person tried to give her a home, but their caregiving responsibilities made it too difficult to manage a puppy. She’s now thriving in her southern foster home and learning all the good things a family dog needs to know.

This sweet girl is wonderful with dogs of all sizes and even respectful of cats—after a curious sniff, she simply goes on her way. She adores children and is patient and gentle with them, though like many young pups, she still gets a little jumpy when excited.

Shasta is doing great with crate and house training, with only occasional accidents. She sleeps soundly in her crate for about 8 hours overnight, and she’s comfortable being crated when her foster is away or during mealtimes. She’s also learning her leash manners and greets other dogs with appropriate interest when out and about. In the car, she rides calmly and enjoys the trip.

Shasta would be a wonderful addition to a family with kids, another dog, or even an active single person looking for a loyal companion. As long as she has plenty of playtime, exercise, and love, Shasta will thrive. She’s ready to bring her bubbly personality and boundless affection into a forever home that will let her be part of life’s adventures.

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.

PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
