Meet Lanny — the brave boy with a soft heart and a story that shows just how much love can change a life. 💛

Lanny is a one-year-old Terrier mix who was found lying in the grass, skinny, hungry, and terrified of humans. Gaining his trust took time, patience, and plenty of treats. Even getting him to safety required gentle coaxing, as fear often sent him running.

Slowly but surely, Lanny decided that maybe not all humans are bad… and that’s when everything changed.

Today, Lanny is thriving in his foster home in the New England area, where he’s learning, growing, and gaining confidence every single day. He has blossomed into a playful, energetic, and sweet pup who loves to run and has done well playing with other dogs who can tolerate his vigorous play style. His goofy personality shines more and more with each passing day.

Loud noises used to frighten him, and sudden movements made him cower, but he’s learned that the world he’s in now is a safe one. While he may still startle at a loud noise, he recovers almost immediately and keeps moving forward.

Lanny will do best with someone who can offer stability, structure, and continued training. He’s already learned how to trust, and he’s eager to keep learning with a patient, loving person by his side.

Because of his past, Lanny prefers to eat separately from other dogs, but once mealtime is over, he’s all wiggles and happiness again.

Lanny has come such a long way, and he’s ready for a home that will appreciate his gentle soul, celebrate his courage, and show him what it feels like to be truly loved.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
