Oreo Cookie is a sweet, calm, and loving boy with a heart full of quiet hope. Though he is quite timid at first, once he begins to trust you, his affectionate and grateful nature shines through. He then loves attention and deeply appreciates every bit of love he's given.

Rescued just in time from a high-risk situation at animal control, Oreo has already beaten the odds. After a short stay in a foster home where he lived in an outdoor kennel, he made his way to his current foster family. There, he’s slowly come out of his shell, building trust at his own pace and finding comfort in a calm, predictable routine.

Oreo isn't looking for high-energy adventures—what he truly longs for is a quiet, stable home where he can feel safe. He does best in peaceful environments and blossoms around other dogs. In fact, he truly comes to life when he's with canine companions of all sizes. A confident, friendly dog sibling would help him continue to build his confidence and feel at ease.

This handsome hound will need patience in a new home, as he’s likely to be fearful at first—but with time, kindness, and consistency, he will reward his new family with loyalty and affection. A secure yard would make him happiest, giving him a space to feel safe and relaxed.

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
