Meet Roger the Dodger!

Roger the Dodger is an adorable, high-energy hound mix puppy with a nose for mischief and a heart full of love. Named after legendary Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach, this little guy lives up to his name, especially when he's proudly dodging you with a "treasure" he knows he shouldn't have!

Roger loves playing with all dogs and is especially sweet with children—he adores attention from his foster's 4-year-old granddaughter. He's affectionate, playful, and loves being loved on.

Crate training is a work in progress, and Roger is already keeping his crate clean and dry at night—what a champ! He's still working on house training but showing great promise. Car rides are new to him, but he handled a short drive like a pro (a few whines, no messes—a win!).

His daily routine includes meals, playtime, indoor cuddle breaks, and crating at bedtime around 8:30 p.m. He's learning quickly and adjusting well to structure and love.

Roger and his brother Dandy Dan ( also on our website) were the last of a litter left behind when others were given away locally.

Roger needs a home that understands puppies are work—he's still learning the ropes when it comes to potty training, leash manners, and chewing boundaries. He'll thrive with a family committed to training, enrichment, and a lifetime of love and activity.

This pup has big personality and lovable antics which mean he's destined for a forever home that will adore him and make him part of their team!

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.

PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
