Meet Dandy Don, a playful, snuggly hound crossbreed puppy named after legendary Dallas Cowboys quarterback Don Meredith. Like his namesake, Dandy is athletic, energetic, and always ready for action. He's got the spirit of a hustler and the heart of a snuggler.

Dandy Don and his brother Roger the Dodger (who has already been adopted) were the last of a litter left behind when others were given away locally.

He is very sweet and loves belly rubs. He is doggie door trained. He keeps his crate clean and dry and sleeps in there through the night in his cozy bed. Car rides are new to him but he's adjusting, and no car sickness so far!

Dandy Don adores other dogs and is happiest when playing or curling up for a nap with a buddy. He's great with kids, especially gentle with his foster's 4-year-old granddaughter, though he can get excited like any pup. He loves affection and wants nothing more than to be part of a loving team.

DD is a high-energy pup and will need lots of play and stimulation. Dandy Don needs a home that understands puppies. He'll thrive with a family committed to training, enrichment, and a lifetime of love and activity.

He is waiting for the perfect match to bring him off the bench and into the game.

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.

PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
