How do we know you’re going to love Oreo? Because this girl charms everyone she meets with her friendly exuberance, her lop-sided ears, and her adorably audible yawns, and she loves everyone right back. She’s never met a stranger she didn't like, not even at the vet!

Oreo was a stray that was hanging around an apartment building where people were feeding her scraps. All of the kids loved on her. Once the harsh winter began, a resident contacted one of our southern rescuers and asked if she could be placed in rescue, rather than have to continue to be outside 24/7. Thankfully, she willfully accepted.

She now resides in a foster home. She is dog-friendly, crate-trained, house-trained to a doggie door, and knows some basic commands. She’s super smart and picks up new commands easily. Her foster home has a elementary age child who has a lot of friends over to play and she does wonderfully with them all.
She did arrive with some skin issues, but it is most likely a seasonal allergy condition and she responded great to a medicine injection.

Oreo’s pastimes include leash walks, wrestling with her foster brother, tearing her (and no one else’s) toys into tiny bits and napping by the window so she can keep an eye on the neighborhood. She also loves tug-of-war (with humans or dogs!), chasing the end of a flirt pole and protecting the world from water hose streams.

Oreo is an well adjusted dog that likes to play and hang out with her people. Oreo would be great in a home with other dogs and older kids.

She’s up for whatever adventure you suggest!

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
