Meet Harry!

Harry is a handsome Australian Shepherd with a gorgeous cocoa-colored coat and soulful golden eyes. He’s a quiet, sensitive dog who’s been through a lot and is ready for a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe.

Harry came from an animal sanctuary where he lived peacefully with many other dogs. Sadly, his world turned upside down when his mom passed away unexpectedly last fall. Since then, life has been confusing and scary, and he’s still trying to find his footing.

Now in foster care, Harry is slowly learning to feel safe. He’s a quiet, low-energy guy who just wants a calm home and a cozy spot on the couch. He’s very timid and fearful, and adjusting to a new place will take time. But once he trusts you, he chooses you completely—he follows his foster mom everywhere and insists on sitting right beside her (or right in her lap).

Harry needs a peaceful home with a secure, fenced yard. He’s currently too scared for leash walks and panics in busy environments. City life or busy neighborhoods would be too much for him. He’s most comfortable around women and is slowly learning that men can be safe too—he’s warming up to his foster dad day by day. Loud noises, kids, and teens are overwhelming, so a home without them is best.

He’s living with two other calm dogs and does great with them. They don’t play, but they relax and hang out together, and their quiet presence is helping Harry build confidence.

This sweet boy needs someone who will move at his pace and continue showing him that love, safety, and trust still exist. Watching Harry open up is a truly special experience, and whoever gives him that chance will gain loyal best friend!

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
