Meet Milkshake

Milkshake is a sweet, playful dog looking for a loving forever home! She was found as an injured stray and, after some rest and care, has fully recovered.

Milkshake thrives on companionship and enjoys playing with bigger dogs, though she can be a bit selective with small dogs and cats. She does well with confident, dog-savvy cats but has a strong chase instinct if they run. So cats may not like living with her!

She has met the neighbor's children who live next door and greets them with enthusiastic face kisses, but she jumps up in excitement. Older children over age seven would be best as she will knock over little ones in her excitement.

She is crate-trained, housetrained, and has a medium energy level. She can be a little nervous in new situations and panics in the car, so she'll need patience and reassurance when traveling or going on walks.

As is the case with some pyrs, she is a "traveler" and will go to explore her surroundings outside her yard if allowed to roam - at at least 6' fence is required for this dog. She will want to be outside as much as possible in winter as it's in her genes.

Milk would do best in a home with a patient, loving owner who can help her build confidence.

While she'd love a canine companion to play with, it's not a dealbreaker but it may help keep her in the yard!

She's a truly sweet girl who just wants to be loved! Could you be her perfect match?

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
