Happy is a handsome 9-10-month-old pup who has already overcome so much in his young life. His start was far from ideal—he was tied up outside in Memphis 24/7 since he was just a tiny puppy, with only a doghouse for shelter. Food and water were inconsistent luxuries.
Thankfully, a kind-hearted rescuer who had been feeding local dogs couldn’t ignore Happy's situation any longer. After months of persistence, she convinced his previous owners to surrender him—though it took a $200 exchange to secure his freedom.
Now, Happy is safe and thriving in foster care. He's quickly learning what it means to be loved in a home. He's both crate-trained and house-trained. While he's still guarded around other dogs (understandably), his foster is actively working with him, and we've enlisted a professional trainer to help him build confidence.
Why Happy?
If you’re looking for a gorgeous, sweet dog and don’t have another pup at home, Happy could be the perfect match for you! As part of his adoption, we’ll cover training through GoodPup—a fantastic program that allows the whole family to participate in Happy’s progress.
Don’t pass this special boy by. Happy deserves a forever home where he’ll never worry about being overlooked again. Let’s make his dreams come true!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.
Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
