Meet Odie! This loveable guy is full of energy, ready to play and eager to learn. Odie is healthy, curious, and full of love! Age: Young
Gender: Male
Breeds: Terrier, Shepherd
No Kids
This boy had previously been adopted, but unfortunately, it turned out not to be the right fit for what the human family was looking for.
He is currently being fostered with 4-dogs, 3-cats, with some occasional visitors of other pups in the home, and has been doing well with everyone. He still has puppy-like energy, and continues to improve his overall manners. He is happy to appease any request and accepts currency in the form of treats He would absolutely love a K9 sibling, so if you have a current canine in search of their new bestie - look no further!
Odie has a shy side, but when provided clear direction his confidence shines. Odie isn't a big fan of sharing, and does request to have a private eating space, whether it be bones or meal time.
Toys are OK, he just needs a clear redirect instruction from his humans.
Odie has adjusted well to the city-suburb life; he has adjusted to the louder noises that can occur from time to time. His overall confidence has sky-rocketed since arriving.
This sweet pup is still quite young and would benefit from some basic obedience training to help bond with his new family. He knows sit, lay down, leave it / drop it, shake, and has reduced initially jumping up on people.
Odie has also been doing well in the kennel when his foster mom has to go to work, and has slept soundly through each night. Odie loves chew toys, and is always excited to meet new friends - human & furry!
As Odie continues building his confidence with the help of his humans, an adult-only home would be the best fit.

Puppy Adoption Fee: $550.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested.

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.
PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?
Please consider purchasing this book before adopting. Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.
