Meet Sookie – Your Personal Mini Hippo & Professional Fun-Maker! 🐾

Sookie is an almost 4-year-old Frenchie mix with a big personality packed into a compact, adorable body. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you active, and then happily collapse into your lap for cuddles, Sookie might just be your girl.

This playful pup is full of energy and absolutely loves to run and play. She currently attends doggy daycare regularly and has a blast there. Tennis balls are her favorite thing in the world — though fair warning: sometimes “fetch” turns into “keep-away while I try to chew this ball into pieces.” Chew toys are a big hit too, but stuffed toys don’t stand a chance in Sookie’s world.

When the zoomies are done, Sookie’s favorite place to be is curled up as close to her people as possible. She’s what we like to call a “mini hippo lap dog” — compact, solid, and fully convinced that your lap was designed just for her.

Sookie is crate-trained and sleeps soundly in her crate at night. She is also crate-trained when her people are away. Like many dogs, she does best with a routine and supervision when loose in the house.

Sookie enjoys the company of dogs her own size or larger and has done well in daycare environments. However, she cannot live with small dogs, as she has had conflicts with smaller canine housemates in the past.

She absolutely adores people and is always eager for attention — sometimes so eager that she’ll scoot right past other dogs to get to you first. When she gets excited, she can be a bit rambunctious and jumpy, but she’s learning her manners and responds well to cues like “sit” and “down.”

Because Sookie is strong and enthusiastic on walks, she’ll need someone who can handle her strength and continue her training. A harness is a must, as her thick little neck makes slipping out of collars surprisingly easy. She would love a fenced yard where she can chase tennis balls and run off her zoomies, and she’d likely have a great time in activities like agility — she’s already practicing her “parkour” skills on the couch at home!

Sookie’s Ideal Home:
~Adults or families comfortable with an energetic dog
~No small dogs
~A fenced yard or active lifestyle
~Someone who loves cuddles as much as she does

Sookie is funny, affectionate, athletic, and full of life. With the right home to guide her energy and soak up her affection, she will be an incredibly loyal and entertaining companion.

If you’re ready for a playful sidekick who will keep you laughing and never let your lap get cold, Sookie is ready to meet you.
