Local Girl fostering in New England!
If you are looking for a young, energetic lady who is ready to be a part of your Pack? Look no further than Mooky! This 2.5 year old, 75 pound Lab Retriever Mix is ready to jump right in!
Mooky loves other dogs. She can be a rough and tumble player, but also adjusts her play style to her playmate. She would like to have lots of social time with both her humans and maybe another dog. If you don’t have another dog, she definitely needs a person who wants to be out and about a lot. Mooky loves being outside with someone and if you have some water for her to play in, she would be just delighted!!
We think Mooky would do well going through some obedience training with her new Family. She knows basic commands, but the change in her family circumstances means her training has not been reinforced as it should have been. She would do well with a refresher. She’s a SMART girl and eager to learn how to be your Best Friend.
Mooky is crate trained. At night and when her people leave the house, she is given free roam in one room, and she does not seem destructive. We recommend that all new pups be crated when alone until owner and pup are both comfortable with the home setting, but eventually we think Mooky will do fine being free in the house during the day.
We think Mooky is the ideal age to become a family pet. She’s UTD on all her vaccines, spayed, and out of her frenetic Puppy Crazy days. She is heartworm negative. If you think she might be the one, apply for her today!
This girl is not a fan of cats and should not be in a home with cats. She loves dogs and humans of all ages though.
Mooky has good house manners and is willing to share her toys, but is mildly possessive of her food with other dogs. She does get a little nervous when folks she has never met before come to the door, so she would probably prefer a home with medium to low “traffic” coming in and out. When new people come over, she should be crated when they enter. Once they are inside, Mooky relaxes and is much more friendly with folks. She’s better when she approaches people (versus having strangers get into her space before she is ready). Her response isn’t aggression; she just barks a lot, and we can tell she’s nervous.
She does warm up to new people quickly, though!
