Lake arrived at her foster home just last night (10/5/24), and she’s already making waves with her charming personality! This sweet pup is a true people-lover, soaking up attention and affection. She’s also shown an impressive knack for potty training—on her very first day, she indicated she wanted to go outside to relieve herself. Talk about a smart cookie!

With beautiful wheat blonde fur and a striking black muzzle, Lake is not just a pretty face. Her unique heterochromia, with one eye ice blue and the other brown, only adds to her irresistible charm. She quickly warmed up to her older canine foster sibling and has shown curiosity towards cats, though she’s a bit hesitant to get too close—typical puppy shyness!

Lake’s journey to this point hasn’t been easy. Once a tiny pup roaming the streets of Mississippi with other dogs, she found shelter under porches and awnings. The kind patrons of local businesses often shared their leftovers, giving her the will to survive. Unfortunately, everything changed when a devastating fire engulfed the buildings around her. Rescued from the ashes with her canine companions, Lake was found hungry, dehydrated, and scared, but she never lost her loving spirit.

Now fully vetted and thriving in her foster home, Lake is ready to find her forever family. This pup is bursting with love, cuddles, and thousands of kisses to give. Are you ready to welcome this sweet survivor into your heart and home? 💖🐾

Puppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. 

The adoption fee also includes the transport fee.

ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are experienced dog owners and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  

PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he’s older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy’s life. Do you have the time?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 

Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.  

Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.

Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
